As a Man Thinketh

As a Man Thinketh is one of my favorite books. I have read it many times, and it has always helped me to take a step back and view myself and my circumstances from a cool, removed vantage point. It is an excellent starting place for beginning to control ones own thoughts and emotions.

The Art of War
The Art of War is a book that every leader should read. Some of it is a bit abstract, but it is thought provoking and full of wisdom and insights from a military perspective.

Extreme Ownership
This book, by retired Navy SEAL officer Jocko Willink, and fellow SEAL Leif Babin, is easily one of the best leadership books I have ever read, and I use the principles I learned from it in my capacity as a husband and in my military service. Using a mix of gripping stories from their time in the SEAL teams and experience in civilian leadership consulting, they go into some pretty convicting lessons on leadership and the responsibilities that entails. So if you’re a parent, a spouse, a CEO, a military Officer or NCO, or anyone who is in any kind of leadership position or might be someday…READ THIS BOOK.
